the inconvenient truth of restaurant food

  • food in Chinese restaurants in China is no-doubt much better than those in the U.S., but is restaurant cooking after all. The materials are never as fresh as they could be in home cooking, and the choice of materials are never as wide as they could be in home cooking, particular in Shanghai where the produce comes in early morning to the market everyday.
