food scene in Merida

BREAKFAST --- coffee | Mexican bread | watermelon
AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- fruits ( Mercado san Benito ) | bread ( street cart on Calle 63 ) |  ice cream ( street cart )| tea
DINNER --- ( cooked at Villa Caribe)  little tortilla | guacamole | octopus two ways: with ponzu sauce, and with Galician style pimenton sauce | salad of pickled radish, avocado and Mexican orange | scrambled eggs with chili mole | pan-fried local fish filet | sauteed cactus and white gourd | barley with lime and cilantro | rose  









































 
  • various tropical fruits and vegetables pile up at  local market. street carts paddle around selling breads and ice cream
