DINNER ---  mussels in white wine and herb broth | silk gourd soup with mong bean noodles and needle mushroom in mussel broth | bread | parboiled Chinese greens 

morning  quick bake 




  • mussels cost  pretty a fraction of  the price of  manila clams, and the taste reflects that too.

 WEEKEND BREAKFAST --- coffee | croissant | watermelon | raspberries | bread and cheese
AFTERNOON-TEATIME ---lychee
DINNER --- guacamole and crackers | cocktail | mussels simmered in curry, garlic and ginger broth | bread | salad | wine

  •  excellent mussels. short-time simmering in shallow broth seasoned by fresh garlic, ginger, lemon zest,  a pinch of curry spice, a dash of lemon juice, super tender and flavorful.

  • good broth for bread dipping. cognac could go fine with Norwegian goat cheese

DINNER ---  foie gras | bread | Moules mariniere ( fisherman's mussels ) | Pommes boulangeres ( baked scalloped potatoes with tomatoes and bacon )  | sauteed summer silk squash with yam noodles | fennel and tomato salad | wine
