NEW YEARS EVE DINNER --- Ochazuke with polished new rice, dashi, pickled plum, roasted seaweed, pickled tiny fish, salmon flakes, wasabi | parboiled winter greens | Oden with fish cake, fried tofu, taro root, daikon, mountain yam  











NEW YEARS DAY --- home baked cinnamon roll bread | homemade Mexican chili sauces: Oaxacan Pasilla salsa, Guajillo garlic salsa , arbol tomato salsa  |  simmered black beans with Coyoacan dark chocolate spices | home baked whole wheat flat bread | spicy braised pork | caramelized onion | fried eggs | cilantro and pomegranate

Holiday time: Shabu Shabu and Magic Flute

HOLIDAY DINNER with friends at home  CHINESE --- rose sparkling wine | cocktail shrimp | home baked focaccia with zaatar herb spice topping || white wine | silk gourd and silken tofu soup | stir-fried threaded daikon with scallion | stir-fried garlic scape with smoked bean curd | stir-fried bitter melon with lotus root | Shanghai style cai-fan (rice with bacon bits and winter greens kale) | kao-fu pot with winter bamboo shoot, wood-ear, shittake mushroom, and lily buds | baked whole bronzino with scallion and ginger | Chinese sweet rice dumplings in honey broth 

HOLIDAY DINNER with family at Lafay 101 DD's  JAPANESE ---- Japanese green tea with hard candy | daikon and tofu pouch with mushroom and olive filling in dashi broth with Japanese mustard and yuzu sauce| monkfish liver with grated daikon and chives | tomato jelly | shabu shabu hot pot:  napa cabbage rolls, lightly grilled tofu, beech mushroom, leek, greens, monkfish, yellowtail, clams, finished broth with steamed rice and raw eggs | tea with taiyake
