Harvest moon dinner

9-26-2015 Sat. mild, drizzle. 



WEEKEND BREAKFAST --- coffee | croissant | bread and cheese | apple  | grapes AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- tea
DINNER --- ( for O. and F. )  in the tea house:  boiled and seasoned taro root | boiled and seasoned fresh soy beans | simmered fresh peanuts | spicy crisp peas and crackers | sparking wine  ||  curry  kabocha | fried and dashi marinated Chinese eggplant with pickled chili | silken tofu with pickled seaweed and pickled ginger | Nigorizake | pan-fried gyoza | rice noodle bowl: fried shishito, seasoned tofu curd, sauteed beech mushroom, shiitake, chestnut, bean sprouts, green onion and kimchi, with homemade kimchi sauce | sake || moon cake | tea 






















  • dinner is rather a success, though  the super moon did not show up , totally behind the clouds. got most of the food for the tradition: soy bean, taro root, peanut, chestnut, seasonal vegetables, drink, and moon cake.
