a real summer day

5-30-2011 Mon. hot, thunder storm.

WEEKEND BREAKFAST --- cappuccino | croissant
AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- cherries | lychee
DINNER
--- pasta with creamy mushroom sauce and crab meat | sauteed Swiss chard | salad of fennel, radish, cherry tomato and lettuce | wine

Call it fusion cooking

3-14-2010 Sun. chilly, drizzle

WEEKEND BREAKFAST --- coffee | scallion pancake | apple | grape fruit
AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- green tea | mini custard
DINNER --- poached Swiss chard with ponzu dressing | pan-roasted cubanelle pepper with sweet-sour sauce | shanghai-style short ribs | rice | red wine


  • used the European and Caribbean ingredients, cooked in Asian cuisine style.

Eat food, mostly plants

1-19-2010 Tue. a nice day, mild, sunny

BREAKFAST --- coffee
LUNCH --- barbari bread | rice with sauteed taro root and black mushroom (leftover from yesterday's dinner)
AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- Wulong green tea | apple
DINNER --- steamed buns with vegetable fillings | sauteed Swiss chard with mustard seed and garlic | white wine


  • Swiss chard from local farmer's market is very tender and fresh. These are winter greens, different from the red stem green leaf kind seen in the summer.
