Lunar New Year special pot: Eight Delights

BREAKFAST ---homemade sweet rice dumpling in fermented sweet rice broth (酒釀湯圓)| oat porridge with seasoned kombu and bonito  | fruit 
DINNER --- grilled shishito pepper and leek | lightly pickled cucumber |steamed and pan-seared  Korean sticky rice blood sausage | pan-fried gyoza |  a pot of "eight delights" : mushroom, kombu  roll, mountain yam noodle bundle, tofu, gingko seeds,  pounded rice cake stick, daikon, chrysanthemum greens, simmered in dashi  | rice

DINNER --- ( for O. and F. , a vegetarian Chinese New Year Dinner)   home baked Chinese taco buns with pickled daikon, kimchi, cucumber, shiitake, smoked tofu | baked Japanese sweet potato fries | spicy pecan, peanuts and candied ginger | cava ||   rice cake in vegetable soup | Si-Chuan style wonton with ma-la chili oil (vegetarian wonton filling: spicy tofu skin, yellow chive and scrambled egg)  | homemade zong-zi ( sticky rice and chestnuts in bamboo leaves)  | celery and fresh ginger salad | sauteed bitter melon with bamboo shoots | stir-fried sweet potato noodles with rainbow colored vegetables | mapo tofu ( vegetarian version special ingredients:  blue cheese and smoked guda) | claypot rice and chestnuts |  sake || sweet rice dumplings in homemade fermented sweet rice broth with pomegranate and apple | homemade  Japanese fish cookie with fresh chestnut filling |  homemade  ginger infused panna cotta  with candied ginger and chocolate | cognac
