an amazing mezze dinner in the tea house

DINNER --- (tea house mezze dinner for O. & F )

muhammara (roasted pepper dip)
baba ganoush (eggplant dip)
zucchini fritters
gigantes and runner (beans & beans)
sweet potato basturma 
shirazi salad
pickles (cauliflower, onion, carrots)
labne (yogurt)
olives
guacamole
zhug (yemeni hot sauce)
pita
 
wine braised vegetables (fennel, leek, shallot, carrots, mushroom, tomato)
collard greens
eggplant rolls with curried cauliflower rice and mushroom walnut miso pâté
tahdig (crispy Persian saffron rice)

muhallebi (almond lychee jelly with raspberry syrup)
qataif (cheese filled pancakes, with pistachio/walnuts)
 

 


 
 



 





 




    • a perfect day for a family and  friends gathering in the tea house,  a mezze dinner made  by dd, sixteen dishes  + two desserts all from scratch.

    AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- apple
    DINNER --- ( at Marilu's) butternut squash with tahini and pine nuts, crackers | turkey zucchini meat balls with sour cream and sumac sauce | burnt eggplant with garlic, lemon, and pomegranate seeds | pita | salmon with chraimeh sauce | wild and Basmati rice and chickpeas | filo pastry with almonds, pistachios and honey | candied fruit | wine

    lamb kabob with saffron rice

    3-25-2013 Mon. chilly, snow to rain.

    LUNCH --- pizza 
    AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- apple
    DINNER --- broiled lamb kabob with spices | yu-xiang eggplant | sauteed bitter melon | saffron rice | wine 









    • cut of lamb leg, marinated for two days. 
    • belated snow in spring

     DINNER --- sauteed mustard greens with green and red chili | baked eggplant with ground lamb and tomato |avocado and cherry tomato salad | basmati  rice | beer 


     
    • a middle eastern dish:  Shakle-Meshi , eggplant made into a boat to hold lamb and it juice, topped with tomato.
