Shanghai-style smoked fish without smoke

BREAKFAST --- coffee
LUNCH --- Chinese rice cake with Shanghai ragu 
AFTERNOON-TEATIME ---apple
DINNER --- Shanghai style smoked fish | simmered Chinese eggplant with fermented fava bean sauce | tong-hao poridge with crushed peanuts | rice | wine 



 
  • This a 100% Shanghai meal
  • the fish was deep-fried , then into the hot "smoky sauce" made by five-spice , soy, rock sugar and fresh ginger.  this time it turned out really well.
