LUNCH --- beef noodle soup 
AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- tea | candied ginger 
DINNER --- purple potato and cucumber salad | purple potato and shallot pancake with green onion and dried shrimp | Japanese winter squash curry | pan-fried Brussels sprouts | rice | wine | nutty chocolate cake

DINNER --- tong-hao porridge with crushed peanuts | simmered Japanese pumpkin Kabocha | Shanghai-style short ribs | rice | wine



  • planning the community vegetable garden, shishito Japanese sweet peppers, Romano beans, English peas, zucchini for harvesting flowers.

Japanese theme without sushi

LUNCH --- | rice with puree of tong-ho leaves (leftover from yesterday's dinner)
AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- green tea | roasted ginkgo nuts | apple
DINNER --- pan-fried Japanese winter squash patties | roasted Japanese sweet potatoes | seasoned pea shoot leaves with dashi broth | sauteed shrimp and two kinds of mushrooms in ginger sauce | red wine

  • Winter is good season for vegetables from Japan with distinguished flavor and texture.
