deep fry and slow simmer

WEEKEND BREAKFAST --- coffee | apple strudel | fruit salad
AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- tea
DINNER --- croquette ( potato) | yam tempura | chili | sauteed kale | rice | homemade bread horn with chocolate custard filling

long simmering chili

12-01-2015 Tue. chilly, rain.  


BREAKFAST --- coffee
LUNCH --- ( at workshop)  vegetable wrap 
AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- tea
DINNER --- Serrano ham | bread | chili  | wine 





 
  • bean chili from scratch, 6 hour simmering is not long enough even with three kinds of beans socked overnight.

LUNCH --- rice with stir-fried chive flowers and smoked tofu (leftovers)
AFTERNOON-TEATIME
--- tea | apple
DINNER --- Korean noddles with hot chili paste, zucchini, and wood-ear | pan-roasted stuffed jalapeno | sake

  • Korean hot chili paste made jalapeno taste rather mild.

Chili, lamb, and pilaf

2-07-2010 Sun. cold, sunny

WEEKEND BREAKFAST --- coffee | toasted Limpa bread | eggnog | grape fruit | apple
AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- green tea 
DINNER --- fries of Japanese sweet potatoes | sauteed king mushroom, fresh lily bulb petals and smoked tofu | pan-roasted long green chili with rice vinegar sauce | broiled lamb chop with Dijon mustard  | rice pilaf | red wine   


  •  Particularly enjoyed a hearty dinner after hours of digging through the deep snow.
