AFTER_CONCERT-DINNER --- homemade tortilla | fried plantain | refried beans | grilled cured fish | avocado with red onion, cilantro, pomegranate and lime juice

DINNER --- ( at Solange's ) grilled beef, chicken, sausages, corn |  yucca | salsa | pickled vegetables | Caipirinha,  Brazilian rum cocktail | beer | wine







  • should have been going on a bikini beach. Yucca has interesting texture, slightly chewer than mashed potato.

AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- tea
DINNER --- ( at Alma, Baltimore )  Asado Negro (Slow roasted beef in dark caramel sauce, plantains, cucumber pickles) | B-more Pepeada ( Crab meat, house Old Bay avocado mayo, cilantro mojo) |  Palitos de Yuca Frita (Golden yucca fries served with cilantro mojo) | Tiradito Mahi (House-cured mani-mahi with five sauces, crumbled cassava bread, microgreens) | Polvorosa de Pollo Caraqueña (Caracas style tender chicken and vegetable deconstructed pie, a drizzle of papelón) || La Sombra del Mezcal ( Suerte Blanco Tequila, La Sombra Mezcal, fresh squeezed lemon and lime juice, papelón syrup, cilantro mojo, jalapeño, mole bitters) | El Batín (Pierde Almas Jovan Mezcal, Black Barrel Single Grain Scotch, orange bitters, smoke) | Devotion to Peach (Poached peach, white chocolate mousse, peach compote reduction, peach vanilla gel, almond crumble)











  • Alma is a new restaurant tagged as " Venezuelan inspired", threw in some Peruvian. amusing menu writing,  pretty decor, pleasant service.  the food is not as refined good as their names and pictures.

Empanadas, street food to semi-fast food

WEEKEND BREAKFAST --- coffee | honeydew | apple | ( from Panas ) empanadas: chiopotle steak, smoked eggplant, roasted pork & onion, with sauces: salsa verde, Aji, pimenton, and plantain chips |
AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- green tea | spicy roasted peanuts
DINNER --- oven-baked fries of Japanese sweet potato | sir-fried baby squid with ginger and scallion sauce | stir-fried chive flowers with smoked tofu | rice | fennel and lettuce salad | wine

  • discovered the newly opened Panas on the way to farmer's market, will try more of those no-nonsense empanadas in their chic-simple dinning hall soon.
