vietnamese spring rolls in spring garden

DINNER --- vietnamese spring rolls: rice paper,  rice noodle, bean sprouts, mint, cilantro thai basil, lettuce, green onion, shrimp| dip with vinegar, chili sauce, fish sauce | mint and citrus drink | homemade fig newtons and tea

  • The northern slop has moist and shady environment for  rich moss and fern collection along the hiking path

asparagus, spinach and new plants

DINNER --- pasta with asparagus, radicchio, onion, smoked salmon, cheese | parboiled spinach 



 a new big-leaf magnolia  joined the family

  • the new magnolia is a handsome one, straight, strong and well shaped branches. the leaf buds are on the tips of the branches. First spotted in Hight Line Park, now we have it in the garden. 
  • visited the local tree nursery and a new holy tree will arrive soon.

WEEKEND BREAKFAST --- coffee | bread and cheese | fruit 
AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- ginger tea
DINNER --- manila clams steamed with wine broth in table top tagine | pan fried silver pomfret | cucumber salad | fresh peas with smoked tofu, leek  and bamboo shoot
