stuffed green bell pepper

DINNER --- pan-fried stuffed green pepper | king mushroom, tomato and eggs | new potatoes | salad | wine 




 
  • a messy and noisy dish to make, taste really good though 
  • a new car has arrived

AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- plum | green tea 
DINNER ---  pan-roasted golden pepper stuffed with minced chicken and onion | sauteed mustard greens  | sauteed green beans | rice | salad | homemade ciabatta bread 

















  • D.D.'s poolish Ciabatta ( two loafs) turned out nicely. the high temperature baking with steam cracked the oven glass.

  • banana peppers from farmer's market are sweet and flavorful, pan-roasting works really well with its thin and crunchy skin.

DINNER --- salad of arugula, chayote and jelly fish with citrus dressing | ma-po tofu | pan-roasted jalapeno stuffed with minced chicken with sweet and sour sauce | rice | wine




  • these jalapenos are decent hot, jelly fish salad is the perfect thing to cool it down. arugula adds a new interesting flavor to the salad with a subtle bite.

DINNER --- steamed fermented tofu with cilantro | sauteed young mustard green | pan-fried pointed red pepper ( stuffed with minced tofu skin and lotus root, in sweet and sour sauce ) | rice | wine




  • not known the name of the variety, these small pointed red peppers are sweet and hot, the outer layer is kind of papery.

--- rice with sauteed greens and ribs ( leftovers )
AFTERNOON-TEATIME
--- tea | sesame cookie
DINNER --- tong-hao porridge with crushed peanuts | pan-roasted Italian long pepper stuffed with leek, shiitake and seasoned tofu skin | rice | salad | wine

  • the stuffing for the pepper has good consistency and flavor, just needs something to get a bit firmer texture when ground meat is replaced by tofu skin.
