LUNCH --- pasta with roasted pepper sauce 
AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- apple
DINNER --- Chinese taco buns with roasted pork, caramelized onion and cilantro | shiitake mushroom soup | salad | wine 



 
  • good job on marinated and slow roasted pork

Chinese taco buns with roasted pork shoulder

2-20-2014 mild, sunny. 


 BREAKFAST --- coffee
 LUNCH --- rice with kung-pao chicken 
AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- apple
DINNER --- seamed Chinese taco buns with cha-shao pork, caramelized onion and green onion | Ji-cai wonton soup | sauteed bok choy | wine 





 
  • the roasted pork shoulder turned out pretty good this time, marinated  for three days and roasted  at 350 degrees for one hour.

DINNER --- Chinese taco buns with roasted pork shoulder and caramelized onion | sauteed radicchio | sauteed fresh peas with garlic scape and chili sauce | wine 






  • those buns are easy to go down, end up eating too much

LUNCH --- ( at C.B.) chicken skewer | stir-fried green beans | fried rice noodles AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- nectarine 
DINNER --- steamed Chinese taco buns with roasted pork shoulder, caramelized onion and shiso | simmered silken tofu with cured fish and cilantro | fennel salad | wine

  • summer continues, Chinese taco buns are well received at dinner.

roasted pork shoulder buns

BREAKFAST --- coffee  
LUNCH --- rice with chive flowers and smoked tofu 
AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- apple 
DINNER --- Chinese taco steamed buns with marinated roasted pork shoulder and sauteed spring onion | sauteed radicchio with tofu skin and wood-ear | wine 




 
  •   Chinese taco pork buns.  the pork shoulder was marinated for two days. tied with string and brushed with sauce,  roasted (350 degree) for 40 minutes, then broiled for 20 minutes. cooled to room temperature, wrapped in foil and chilled in fridge.  good flavor and excellent texture.
