steamed dumplings

BREAKFAST --- coffee
LUNCH --- rice with sauteed bean sprouts and wood-ear (leftovers)
AFTERNOON-TEATIME
--- green tea | peach
DINNER --- steamed dumplings with fillings of mustard green and chicken | fennel and avocado salad | wine

  • mustard green is a good substitute for bok choy as dumpling filling in summer

BREAKFAST

LUNCH --- vegetable soup with wood-ear mushrooms | cured ham and buns
AFTERNOON-TEATIME
--- green tea | peach
DINNER --- fennel and avocado salad | steamed Chinese dumplings with filling of summer greens, shiitake mushroom and minced chicken | red wine

  • back to regular routine of making dumplings, watercress and Chinese mustard green replace boy choy for the summer season

AFTERNOON-TEATIME
--- soy bean snack | green tea
DINNER --- fennel salad | sauteed mushroom, wood-ear, and smoked tofu with fresh tomato-shallot sauce | boiled summer greens | rice | red wine

  • the kitchen back to normal with power, most food in the refrigerator out to trash
