AFTER-CONCERT-DINNER ---  wine soy braised short rib with dried figs and dates  | parboiled Chinese greens | steamed artichoke with olive oil and citrus dipping | homemade kumquat marmalade tart with preserved kumquat, pistachio and white chocolate pearls

WEEKEND BREAKFAST --- coffee  | Croissant | bread and cheese | mango | strawberries AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- tea
BEFORE-CONCERT-DINNER --- steamed artichoke with spiced butter | French green lentils with carrot, shallot, celery and pin nuts | baked whole yellow tail with lemon and Spanish chorizo | fennel salad | wine








 
  •   yellow tail and  artichoke are plump.

pink prosciutto and purple artichoke

AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- tea
DINNER --- fresh mozzarella, tomato, cucumber, and fennel salad | steamed purple artichoke with lemon butter dipping | Thai-style hot and sour seafood stew with egg noodles | wine 














 
  • the season for artichoke started, waiting for the baby ones. the purple variety seems to have a slightly nutty flavor.

  • the first bunch of red roses from the front garden, the first bunch of cherries of the year.

DINNER --- steamed artichoke with citrus dipping sauce | lamb liver with ginger, leek and lemon | spiced lamb shank stew with barley | wine 

















 
  •   king size artichoke, queen size lamb shank. lamb liver is delicate and not as dense as pork liver.

  • they shoot up from the earth in the spring.

a collaborated dinner

BREAKFAST --- coffee
LUNCH --- pasta with tomato sauce 
AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- apple
DINNER --- guacamole and chips | lightly pickled radish and fennel, with Spanish green olives |  steamed artichokes with lemon olive oil dipping ( by Gerhard) | saffron rice | baked sea bream with mango-shallot marmalade | stir-fried fresh fava beans and peas with tofu skin and roasted red pepper | zabaglione with citrus and white wine ( by Gerhard) | wine








 
  • steamed artichokes are tender and creamy, excellent with lemon scented dipping sauce 
  •  zabaglione is fluffed up by beating together eggs, white wine, sugar and lemon juice, over a steaming water pot.
