a feast of Kalbi and baby artichokes

7-31-2011 Sun. hot, brilliant blue.


WEEKEND BREAKFAST --- barley tea | raspberry sorbet and seltzer | baguette | foi gras | fruit salad
AFTERNOON-TEATIME --- green tea | cantaloupe
DINNER --- bbq Kalbi | bbq squid | sauteed pea shoots | pan-fried baby artichokes | salad of lettuce, cherry tomato, fennel and cucumber | bread with rosemary and garlic olive oil | wine




  • Kalbi: Korean cuts of beef short ribs, marinated in wine and soy overnight and grilled with Korean BBQ sauce, delicious!
  • baby artichokes: pan-fried, with minced garlic,red pepper, and shiso, divine! a wonder of the summer vegetables.
