DINNER --- tabbouleh with parsley, cucumber, tomato and toasted walnuts | sauteed green beans | steamed short ribs wrapped in crushed rice and spices with lotus root | rice | wine 























 
  • beautiful day with brilliant sunshine and crisp cool air.  gardening and cooking. some for friends ( spicy wine braised beef , stir-fried lotus root, shrimp and chive flowers, orange bread)

  • the bean stew was not quite ready ( needs two hours ) , tofu pot took the place

  • very good winter vegetables,  lotus and taro have similar leaves, but very different roots, one is crunchy, the other very creamy and soft.
