DINNER --- Rotini salad: rotini, Irish bacon, black olive, artichoke hearts, shrimp, Spanish marinated red pepper, and green onion, with mustard sauce | sauteed squid with scallion and Spanish sausage | fennel and lettuce salad | beer

  • stay with cool dishes, salads of everything. the Irish bacon from a local store is actually kind of ham, with lean and firm texture and smoked flavor.

DINNER --- sauteed tiny squids with caramelized onion and mushroom relish | stir-fried bitter melon, tomato and wood-ear | fennel, cherry tomato, lettuce and arugula salad | rice

  • the squids were too tiny and hard to work with stuffing, instead the stuffing was turned into relish sauce.

AFTERNOON-TEATIME
--- green tea | wasabi fried peas
DINNER --- sauteed fresh squid with winter bamboo shoots and Thai basil | fresh razor clams poached in wine, scallion, ginger and lemongrass broth | stir-fried garlic scape with fermented black bean sauce | french country bread | white wine




  • an adventure into sea world. fresh squid is relatively easy to handle, remove the back cartilage, peel off the thin top skin, and marinate in rice wine. It is more work to clean and prepare razor clams.
